Homie Skillz always reps MAJOR and the area to the fullest, and when we ran into him in Vegas with DJ Jazzy Jeff, he told us about the episode of Hip Hop Confessions that he filmed recently, and he wore the classic DMV fitted.

We here at MAJOR decided to throw a party to raffle off one of the two The Hundreds PK Ripper SE 26" bikes we got in. So we brought out some vintage TH pieces from seasons past and shut down the shop for 30 to set-up for the event.

We had a good crowd waiting patiently outside for the raffle, a chance to get some Hundreds good they may have slept on, and for the free drinks thanks to AMP.

The owner of the 1st TH bike MAJOR got in earlier, stopped by to say what's up.

The party gets going and the drinks start flowing.

The crowd was great and everyone seemed to have a great night. Thanks again and congrats to our one lucky winner!!!

No matter what type of music you are into, you can never deny the impact of Michael Jackson as a one-man cultural force that he represented.

While we mourn the passing of the greatest popular music artist to ever live, we also celebrate the legacy of great music and great performances that he left behind!

Michael was the "Michael" and "MJ" before another person sharing the same first name and same exact initials (MJJ) took over as the biggest icon in the world.

Thanks for all the great memories created around your music, Michael! We are forever indebted to you for what you have meant in our lives! You were, and are the Only Artist That Matters...

EA Sports Fight Night Round 4 x Reigning Champ Hoodie

The EA Sports Fight Night team and fellow Vancouver based company CYC Design Corp. and their sports-apparel brand Reigning Champ (RC) have teamed up to create a special collaboration to commemorate the launch of one of the most anticipated video games to release this year in Fight Night Round 4.

Fight Night Line Producer Jeff Atienza explains that two different Fight Night x Reigning Champ signature classic fit hoodies have been created in very limited quantities. With Legendary Boxers “Iron” Mike Tyson and the “Greatest of All Time” Muhammad Ali gracing the cover of Fight Night Round 4 it also made sense to pay homage to these two great warriors through our collaboration with Reigning Champ says Atienza.



The first limited edition piece, the RC signature classic fit black hoodie with custom detailing such as Gold Flatlock on the hem and cuffs, gold zipper and Tyson and Ali’s professional fighting record embroidered on the chest.



In even fewer quantities a second RC Signature classic fit hoodie – this time in Red to pay tribute to current boxing superstar and pound for pound great Manny Pacquaio. The hoodie features Gold Flatlock on the hem and cuffs, black zipper, and Pacquaio’s current boxing record and Filipino saying - Pambansang Kamao (National Fist) a reference to Pacquaio’s status as hero in his native Philippines.



Along with Atienza, fellow Fight Night Producer Freddy Ouano worked with the duo Craig Atkinson and Kenta Goto from Reigning Champ to come up with a great design that subtlety reflects back on the boxers included in Fight Night Round 4 mixed with exceptional quality and craftsmanship Reigning Champ has become renowned for.

With the highly anticipated release of Fight Night Round 4 just around the corner on June 30th 2009, you will also see an extension to this partnership in game. Recognizable Reigning Champ apparel and gear will be seen in various boxing venues, worn by spectators, and in the games “Create a Boxer” feature where players can outfit their boxers in Reigning Champ gear.

Atienza adds the integration of Reigning Champ into the game is subtle and I think fans of Fight Night and Reigning Champ will be in for a treat. Working with the guys over at CYC and Reigning Champ has been awesome, their attention to detail is unmatched and their product speaks for itself.

Unfortunately these ultra limited pieces will only be distributed among select celebrities, sports figures and influencers upon release. Time to put your guilty pleasures aside. Mc's, get your bars up. The flow is copy written so keep your bars to yourself.

This album is not all peaches and strawberries and happy endings. Its a gateway for your shadow to put you in check. Think about why you liked Nas, Kool G., Smooth da Hustla, or the entire Wu Tang Squad. Then add everything you miss and love about DC. The First Day of CHANGE!

What a day! January 20th, 2009 will go down in the history, as the day that CHANGE really became reality.

As DC is my personal home, and the home to MAJOR, it is with a great personal pride to share this great city with our new President, Barack Obama. Unlike former president bush, President Obama is someone that I voted for, and someone who I can proudly proclaim "Our President."

While we are in the midst of this joyful celebration, let's not forget that our new President needs all of us to help him achieve change that we desperately need in this country. Just as he bold declared during his Inauguration speech, all citizens must exercise "responsibility" in order to overcome the war and the economic crisis that threatens our way of life!

I am proud to be an American today. I am proud of the fact that someone with not-so-American name can be elected the President of our country. I am proud of the fact that so many Americans voted for the man with the best qualifications to lead our country, without basing their decision on the man's skin color, or age. We are indeed living in a New America!

Let this significant moment in history be an inspiration to us all... Yes We Can & Yes We Will!

AACA Global Launch - Inauguration Weekend

How many of you remember those AACA hoodies? Let's take it back all the way to 1992, when everyone was rocking Champion hoodies, and all of sudden, rappers started rocking these AACA hoodies, repping Historically Black Colleges and Universities. These hoodies were made of the best quality heavyweight fleece, and felt more like an outerwear than a typical layering piece a hoodie was at the time.

The driving force behind it all, and responsible for putting these hoodies on every popular rapper alive at the time, was none other than my friend, Chris Latimer. Chris went onto start an agency called Da Streetz, which specialized in marketing and product placement for various clients, including CCM Hockey Jerseys, American Needle, Fubu and various music companies. He also went onto create Cancun Memorial Day Weekend events, which have become legendary.

But Chris has always sought to bring back his first passion, which was African American College Alliance, or AACA for short. Having graduated from Howard University, he feels especially proud to have been one of the pioneers of urban/streetwear game that paid tribute to institutions where "getting fly" originated from.


Fast forward to 2009, MAJOR is proud to partner with Chris Latimer & AACA in the Launch of AACA Brand. In this historically significant weekend, AACA will debut its first collection at MAJOR. AACA staff will be on hand on Friday, January 16th through Sunday, January 18th to assist in sales. These are 480 Gram Premium Cotton Fleece with heavy duty double sided ribbed gusset, and oversized hood, just the way you remember them from back in the day with everyone from Biggie to Snoop rocking these hoodies at performances and in the videos. Now, as you can see from above, The Cool Kids are rocking these hoodies with pride, as the new generation takes over!
